Course Description
This club will meet once a month on the third Tuesday at 4:00 PM ET. The club activities will include presentations, games, writing prompts, and a variety of similar activities centered on writing.
Creative Writing is often overlooked in favor of academic writing, but not here! This club is a space for students who are passionate about creative writing or those who simply enjoy good stories. Whether you’re an expert in dialogue or a novice who doesn’t even know what the hero’s journey is, all are welcome! The club will be made up of monthly meetings, where members will share their knowledge about creative writing and learn about a new subsect of creative writing each month. Students will also be given access to varied resources and monthly writing prompts to stretch their newfound knowledge!
Club members will be expected to have at least an 8th grade level of standard writing and English grammar skills. They should also be open to learning and discussing new types of writing and able to provide feedback kindly on other students writing if required. No formal creative writing skills are required and all are welcome as long as they can perform to the previously stated levels. All members should expect to participate in some way, even if that is simply playing games or asking questions during a club meeting.
