Shelley Wright

Science education is not just a job for me. It is my passion and my hobby. I’ve had this passion since childhood. I am a lifelong learner. My daily goal is to see a love of science ignited in the students and people in my life! After receiving my bachelor’s and master’s degree in microbiology and biochemistry, I went to work in research then quickly realized I missed being a student. . . . So, I became a teacher!

Now with over 20 years of classroom, homeschool, and private tutoring experience, I still love everyday of being a teacher. I partner my excitement of the natural world with deep knowledge and resources to support the educational needs of my students. In order to bring my students the most current and cool science information, I enjoy being a member of American Association of Chemistry Teachers, National Tutor Association, National Science Teachers Association and American Chemical Society. When I’m not reading and doing science, I love to travel, read, drink coffee, and spend time with my family and Goldendoodle dog, Louie!
